Courtesy Call on State Minister KUNIMITSU by MFO Director General Dibble

On November 18, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Ms. Elizabeth L. Dibble, Director General of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO), who is visiting Japan. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU stated that Japan highly values the role the MFO plays in contributing to peace and stability in the Middle East, and that Japan will continue close cooperation with the MFO.
- In response, Director General Dibble expressed her appreciation for Japan’s continued financial and personnel contributions to the MFO.
- Regarding Gaza situation, State Minister KUNIMITSU explained that Japan would play a proactive role in advancing President Trump’s 20-point Comprehensive Plan and in achieving a two-state solution through engaging in the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza. They also exchanged views on the future outlook for the situation in the Middle East.
