Lunch meeting between Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs IKUINA and Australian parliamentary delegation

                        On October 14, Ms. IKUINA Akiko, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a lunch meeting with Ms. Sally Sitou, Member of the House of Representatives in the Parliament of Australia, Ms. Leah Blyth, Senator for the Australia, and Ms. Ash Ambihaipahar, Member of the House of Representatives in the Parliament of Australia, during their visit to Japan under the 32nd Japan-Australia Young Political Leaders Exchange Program. The overview the meeting is as follows:
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister IKUINA welcomed the visit to Japan by Australian parliamentary delegation and expressed her hope that they would continue to support Japan-Australia relations, drawing on their experience from this visit.
 - The Australian delegation expressed their gratitude for the invitation to Japan, noting the warm hospitality they received at each location they visited, which further enhanced their impression of Japan. The delegation also stated that they deepened their understanding of Japan through candid exchange of views.
 - During the meeting, the both sides exchanged views on bilateral relationship, including security cooperation, economic, and people-to-people exchanges, and concurred that they would further strengthen bilateral cooperation across a broad range of areas.
