- Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs NAMAZU Hiroyuki and Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker led the U.S.-Japan Dialogue on a Free and Open Indo-Pacific to discuss priorities and align approaches to the region. They emphasized that ongoing U.S.-Japan cooperation ensures peace and stability based on the rule of law in the Indo-Pacific, which is essential for a safe, prosperous, and secure future for the people of the United States of America and Japan.
- Under Secretary Hooker and Senior Deputy Minister Namazu committed to enhance alignment on regional priorities, including addressing destabilizing activity by China and North Korea, strengthening maritime security and law enforcement cooperation, and promoting a free and fair global economic order.
