On August 9th, the 80th Nagasaki Peace Ceremony was held with the participation of bereaved families and citizens. Foreign Minister Iwaya attended the ceremony and expressed his prayers for the repose of the souls of the victims.

  1. After the ceremony, Minister Iwaya visited the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. He then attended a meeting to listen to requests from groups of atomic bomb survivors and to exchange view with them.
  2. On the same day, Minister Iwaya issued a video message for the 11th General Conference of Mayors for Peace Commemorating 80 Years since the Atomic Bombings held in Nagasaki City.
