Welcome Reception of the Third Tokyo International Law Seminar

State Minister and participants to the reception

On August 4, a welcome reception for the Third Tokyo International Law Seminar was held, and Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, delivered welcome remarks.

  1. The reception was attended by distinguished guests including Prof. Tshilidzi MARWALA, Rector of the United Nations University, H.E. Dr. Kamalinne PINITPUVADOL, Secretary-General of Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization, Mr. SATO Akihiko, Vice President of Japan Federation of Bar Associations, Mr. TSUTSUMI Yoshiyuki, Deputy Director-General of the Ministerial Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice, as well as lecturers, representatives of sponsors of the Seminar, foreign participants, Japanese lawyers, international law scholars, ambassadors of related countries.
  2. State Minister FUJII, in his opening speech, stated that he welcomes that the third Tokyo International Law Seminar is firmly establishing itself as an important platform where legal experts across Asia-Pacific and Africa gather and deepen their knowledge in the field of international law. He also noted that as divisions and confrontations within the international community are becoming more severe, it is critically important that we firmly uphold the international order based on the “rule of law,” which has been benefiting all countries.
