Attendance of Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs at the opening ceremony of International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation

On July 1, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the opening ceremony of International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation and delivered congratulatory remarks.
- State Minister Fujii highlighted the significance of Japan-China-the Republic of Korea (ROK) trilateral cooperation, the progress achieved to date, and the outcomes of the Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Tokyo this March. He also expressed Japan’s intention, as the current chair of the Trilateral Summit, to continue working closely with both China and the ROK.
- State Minister Fujii expressed his appreciation for the contributions that the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) has made in promoting exchanges and cooperation among Japan, China and the ROK, and conveyed his expectation that the TCS will continue to lay the foundation for a future-oriented trilateral relationship.
- Finally, State Minister Fujii emphasized that promoting trilateral cooperation requires the understanding and support of the peoples of the three countries, as well as intergovernmental collaboration. He expressed his hope that this forum would serve as an opportunity to further advance future-oriented trilateral cooperation.

International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation has been held by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat since 2011 to raise public awareness of trilateral cooperation and to contribute to policy making by the governments of the three countries. This year’s forum was held in Tokyo under the theme “Shaping the Future Together: Navigating Global Complexity through Trilateral Cooperation”.
