Additional Measures under the IAEA framework related to the discharge of ALPS treated water into the sea

As a part of additional measures under the IAEA framework that Japan and the IAEA concurred on conducting in September 2024, the IAEA officials and experts from third-party laboratories will visit Japan and collect samples on June 17.
- This is the fourth mission for conducting the additional measures, following October 2024, February 2025, and April 2025.
- The third-party laboratories from Belgium, China, Republic of Korea, Russia and Switzerland, will participate in the additional measures.

- 1st: October 15, 2024 (collection of seawater)
- 2nd: February 19, 2025 (collection of seawater), February 20, 2025 (selection of fishery products), February 21 (collection of ALPS treated water prior to dilution with seawater)
- 3rd: April 15, 2025(collection of ALPS treated water diluted with seawater)
