Japan-France Consultation on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation

On June 11, Japan-France Consultation on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation was held in Tokyo.
- The Japanese side was represented by Dr. NAKAMURA Kimitake, Ambassador, Director-General of Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, while the French side was represented by Mr. Guillaume OLLAGNIER, Director for Strategic Affairs, Security, and Disarmament, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.
- At the consultation, the two sides exchanged views on a wide range of important current issues in the areas of disarmament and non-proliferation, such as nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation including maintaining and strengthening the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) regime, biological, chemical and conventional weapons as well as regional issues. Both sides concurred to continue to work together in these areas.
