On April 22, commencing at 5:30 p.m., for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by the parliamentary delegation led by Mr. Fernand ETGEN, Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The overview of the meeting is as follows.

  1. At the outset, State Minister Fujii welcomed the parliamentary delegation of Luxembourg to Japan, which is the first visit in a bilateral context, and expressed his pleasure that there are many opportunities for high-level communication between the two countries which maintain good bilateral relations on the basis of the close relationship between the Imperial Household and the Grand Ducal Household. He also expressed his desire to further strengthen relations in anticipation of this year's Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan and the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Luxembourg in 2027.
  2. In response, the parliamentary delegation, led by Vice-President Etgen expressed their desire to further strengthen the good bilateral relationship, including exchanges of the parliamentarians, and the two parties exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations and international affairs.
