Video Message by Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan for the seminar on Japan-India economic security

On 22nd April, “Seminar on Strengthening Japan-India Strategic Relations from the Perspective of Economic Security” was held in Tokyo, and Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, delivered a video message. The overview of the seminar is as follows.
- At the seminar, government officials and experts from Japan and India engaged in lively discussions on the cooperation between Japan and India in the area of economic security under the theme of “Seminar on Strengthening Japan-India Strategic Relations from the Perspective of Economic Security”.
- In his message, Minister IWAYA Stated that amidst the growing importance of economic security, the Government of Japan has positioned economic security as an important pillar of diplomacy in the new era, and is promoting an economic security policy based on the three pillars of “increasing self-reliance,” “securing an advantage and indispensability,” and “maintaining and strengthening the international order.” He also noted that India, as a “Special Strategic and Global Partner” with which Japan shares values and principles, is an indispensable partner in addressing challenges of economic security. Minister IWAYA stated that he looks forward to more concrete cooperation between our two countries in the future.
