State Minister for Foreign Affairs MIYAJI received a Courtesy Call from the representatives of the Japanese Parliamentary Association for Supporting Democratization of Myanmar and the Myanmar Community in Japan

On April 15, commencing at 2:40 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. MIYAJI Takuma, State Minister for Foreign Affairs received a courtesy call from the representatives of the Japanese Parliamentary Association for Supporting Democratization of Myanmar (hereinafter referred to as the “Parliamentary Association”) (Chairperson KONDO Shoichi, Advisor FUKUSHIMA Mizuho, and Secretary-General ISHIBASHI Michihiro) and the Myanmar community residing in Japan.
- State Minister Miyaji exchanged views with the representatives of the Parliamentary Association and the Myanmar community on the damage caused by the March 28 earthquake in Myanmar as well as Japan's humanitarian assistance in response to it. State Minister Miyaji received the “Letter of Request” from both the Parliamentary Association and the Myanmar community for emergency assistance for the people affected by the earthquake.
- State Minister Miyaji stated that he was deeply saddened by the significant damage caused by the earthquake in Myanmar, and from the perspective of standing with the people of Myanmar, who are close friends of Japan, the Government of Japan would continue to provide humanitarian assistance that would directly benefit those affected by the disaster.
