Attendance of Ms. IKUINA Akiko, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs at the opening ceremony reception of the “Year of Japan-China-ROK Cultural Exchange 2025-2026”


On April 14, Ms. IKUINA Akiko attended the opening ceremony reception of the “Year of Japan-China-ROK Cultural Exchange 2025-2026”.
At the outset of the reception, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Ikuina delivered remarks and gave a toast. In her remarks, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Ikuina congratulated the commencement of the Year of Japan-China-ROK Cultural Exchange 2025-2026 and expressed her strong desire that cultural exchanges will serve as the foundation of the constructive relations among the three countries referring that, at the Japan-China-ROK Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held last month, the foreign ministers of the three countries concurred on promoting “knowing each other better” as one of the three areas of cooperation.

At the ninth Japan-China-ROK Trilateral Summit held in the Republic of Korea in 2024, the three leaders, recognizing the role of culture plays bridging role in connecting the people of the three countries, designated 2025-2026 as the Year of Cultural Exchange. Based on this decision, the opening ceremony of the Year of Japan-China-ROK Cultural Exchange 2025-2026 was held in Tokyo on April 14, with cultural performances and the announcement of the official logo of the Year of Cultural Exchange.
