2024 Fukushima Study Tour for Tokyo Diplomatic Missions

On March 5, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Japan, in cooperation with the Fukushima Prefectural Government will conduct a study tour for Tokyo-based diplomatic missions to Naraha Machi in Futaba County and Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, to visit facilities related to renewable energy and decarbonization.
- The purpose of this study tour is to introduce to the Tokyo-based diplomatic corps an understanding of the advanced efforts being made by Fukushima Prefecture toward a decarbonized society as one of the pillars of reconstruction, and to disseminate this understanding to the world.
- In relation to lithium-ion batteries necessary for electric vehicles (EV), the tour will visit Toyotsu Lithium Corporation, Sumiko Energy Materials Corporation, and Asaka Riken Co. The tour will also visit J-Village*, a complex that is a symbol of Fukushima's recovery.
