State Minister for Foreign Affairs MIYAJI received a courtesy call from Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership (JCLP)

On December 5, for about 30 minutes from 14:00, Mr. MIYAJI Takuma, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan received a courtesy call from Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership (JCLP).

The overview is as follows.

  1. Ms. MIYAKE Kaoru, Co-Chair, and other members of JCLP noted the importance of Japan's leadership in addressing global climate change and submitted a proposal to realize economic growth through decarbonization, including the expansion of renewable energy.
  2. State Minister Miyaji stated that it is evident that climate change has become more drastic in recent years, and it is very important for countries, including Japan, to make efforts for decarbonization in this context. State Minister Miyaji also noted that addressing climate change is an opportunity to bring about changes in industrial structures and economic society. In addition, State Minister Miyaji expressed his appreciation for various efforts that JCLP has made for decarbonization and the improvement for energy security and concluded that Japan will continue to promote measures to steadily address climate change while cooperating with related ministries, in order to lead the global climate action.
