Japan-Poland Foreign Ministers' Telephone Talk

On November 28, commencing at 5:20 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, had a call with H.E. Mr. Radosław SIKORSKI, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Minister Iwaya expressed his gratitude for the support from the Polish side during his recent visit to Ukraine. Minister Iwaya also explained the results of the visit and stressed the importance of Poland's role in the situation in Ukraine. In response, Foreign Minister Sikorski expressed his appreciation for Japan's efforts to date, including Minister Iwaya's recent visit to Ukraine, and expressed his desire to continue working with Japan on the matter. The two ministers also shared serious concern about the deployment of North Korean soldiers to Russia.
- Minister Iwaya also stated that he would like to work closely with Foreign Minister Sikorski to deepen bilateral relations, taking advantage of the opportunities of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. Furthermore, the two ministers concurred to cooperate together in the context of Japan-NATO and Japan-EU relations, taking into account that Poland will hold the next EU presidency.
