Video Message by Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan for the 7th Japan-India Indo-Pacific Forum

On November 18th and 19th, the Japan-India Track 1.5 Dialogue “7th Japan-India Indo-Pacific Forum” was held in Delhi, India.
- At this year's forum, government officials and experts from Japan and India engaged in lively discussions under the theme of “India and Japan: Partners for Asian Stability and Progress.”
- The final session of the Forum featured video messages from Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, on the themes of “Rise of Asia and the Indo-Pacific in Global Order” and “Outlook for greater strategic coordination between India and Japan”.
- Minister IWAYA stated in his message that at a time when the existing international order is being challenged in various ways, efforts to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” are becoming increasingly important, and that Japan and India, which share common fundamental values and strategic interests, have a great responsibility for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. He also stated that both countries have dramatically developed the bilateral relationship in a variety of areas including security and economic field, and highlighted that Japan will continue to strengthen relations with India and further develop cooperation among like-minded countries, including Japan, India, the United States, and Australia.
