Japan-Kyrgyz Foreign Ministers’ Telephone Meeting

On November 7, commencing at 0:45 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a telephone meeting with H.E. Mr. Jeenbek KULUBAEV, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Minister Iwaya mentioned that Kyrgyz Republic is a comprehensive partner for Japan in maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order based on the rule of law and expressed his willingness to closely work with Minister Kulubaev to further deepen the relations between the two countries.
- Minister Iwaya also stated that he welcomed further enhancement of bilateral relations as a result of President of Kyrgyz Repulic, H.E. Mr. Japarov’s visit to Japan in November last year accompanied by Minister Kulubaev, and pointed out that Japan would continue to support Kyrgyz Republic with nation-building including through One Village One Product (OVOP) and Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) which have been successfully implemented. In response, Minister Kulubaev expressed his deep appreciation for Japan's support and that he would like to strengthen cooperation in all areas, including politics, economic relations.
