Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister FUKAZAWA by the Foreign Policy Committee, The Danish Parliament

On November 1, Mr. FUKAZAWA Yoichi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Rasmus PREHN, Acting Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee, the Danish Parliament and the committee members. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fukazawa welcomed the committee members to Japan, stating that Japan and Denmark are strategic partners that share values such as freedom, democracy, the rule of law, and respect for human rights, and that he would like to further strengthen bilateral relations between Japan and Denmark.
- In response, Mr. Prehn stated that Denmark attaches great importance to its relationship with Japan as a close friend with shared values, and that he would like to continue to strengthen cooperation in a wide range of fields including security based on the Joint Leaders’ Statement and the Joint Strategic Work Program.
- The two sides exchanged views on various issues of the international community such as the situation in East Asia including China and dealing with North Korea such as the nuclear and missile issues, the abductions issue as well as the advancement of Russia-North Korea military cooperation, and the situation in Ukraine.
