Japan-Kazakhstan Foreign Ministers’ Telephone Meeting

On November 1, commencing at 13:35 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a telephone meeting with H.E. Mr. Murat NURTLEU, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Minister Iwaya mentioned that Kazakhstan is a strategic partner for Japan in maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order based on the rule of law and expressed his willingness to closely work with Minister Nurtleu to further deepen the relations between the two countries.
- Minister Iwaya also expressed his appreciation for the deepening of the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in high-level exchanges and economic areas such as energy, and his hope to promote cooperation in the areas of disaster risk reduction, urban resilience, connectivity enhancement, and the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) in the future. In response, Minister Nurtleu stated that he would like to strengthen cooperation in all areas, including political relations, trade, investment, and economic relations between the two countries.
