Emergency Grant in response to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Lebanon

On October 21, in the wake of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Lebanon, the Government of Japan decided to extend Emergency Grant of USD 10 million.
- With this Emergency Grant, Japan will implement humanitarian assistance in such areas as essential supplies, shelter, and food through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and other organizations.
- The Government of Japan will continue to call for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah and, in order to prevent further deterioration of the situation, urge all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to make sincere efforts for a diplomatic settlement.
