  1. Regarding the presidential elections in Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela held on July 28, 2024 (local time), Japan continues to call for ensuring the transparency of the presidential election process, so that the will of all Venezuelans who cast their ballots is respected. The National Electoral Council (CNE) has not provided the necessary information to ensure the reliability of the election results, and Japan shares the domestic and international voice for the CNE to release the information, including tally sheets.
  2. We are deeply concerned about the situation where multiple casualties occurred due to the conflicts that occurred after the presidential elections. We call on all parties in Venezuela to refrain from using violence.
