Meeting between State Minister for Foreign Affairs TSUJI Kiyoto and H.E. Ms. Bestine KAZADI DITABALA, Delegated Minister to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie in charge of International Cooperation and Francophonie, Democratic Republic of the Congo

On August 25, commencing at 8:27 a.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. TSUJI Kiyoto, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with H.E. Ms. Bestine KAZADI DITABALA, Delegated Minister to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie in charge of International Cooperation and Francophonie, Democratic Republic of the Congo, visiting Japan to attend the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) Ministerial Meeting. The overview of the meeting is as follows.
- At the outset, State Minister Tsuji stated that the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a regional power with high economic potential, is a strategically important partner that shares fundamental values and principles with Japan, and that Japan would like to cooperate with the Democratic Republic of the Congo in areas such as development, business, peace and stability.
- In response, Delegated Minister KAZADI expressed her appreciation for Japan's cooperation in various fields and her expectations for further assistance in human resource development and infrastructure development.
- The two sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations including economic relations and development cooperation.
- The two sides confirmed the further deepening of relations between Japan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo toward TICAD 9 next year.
