Statement by Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs HOSAKA Yasushi on the occasion of the UN High-Level Political Forum 2024 Ministerial Segment

On the morning of July 17 (local time on the afternoon of July 16), Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs HOSAKA Yasushi attended the UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2024 Ministerial Segment and delivered a statement on behalf of the Japanese government.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister HOSAKA reiterated that it is necessary to recall the central promise of the SDGs: “Leave No One Behind”, and to develop solidarity that transcends differences in politics and ideology under the concept of human security based on human dignity, while our efforts to ensure the sustainability of the international community, including the SDGs, are facing significant challenges.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister HOSAKA also stated that under the concept of human security, Japan will continue to play a leading role in advancing the comprehensive realization of the SDGs in the international community introducing to Japan's emphasis on collaborations with multi-stakeholders and cooperation with low-income and vulnerable countries.
