Signing of the Agreement Between the Government of Japan And the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany Concerning Reciprocal Provision of Supplies and Services Between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany

On January 29, in Tokyo, the Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany Concerning Reciprocal Provision of Supplies and Services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany ("Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement", or ACSA) was signed by Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA Yoko, and H.E. Dr. Clemens von Goetze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Japan.
- The Agreement establishes a framework such as the settlement procedures for the reciprocal provision of supplies and services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany.
- The Agreement will facilitate the smooth and prompt provision of supplies and services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Agreement will also promote their closer cooperation, and enable them to actively contribute to peace and security of the international society.
