Courtesy call on Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA by H.E. Mr. Børge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum (WEF)

On December 8, commencing at 5:25 p.m., for approximately 20 minutes, Mrs. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Børge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum.
- Minister Kamikawa welcomed President Brende's visit and stated that she feels a personal connection with the WEF, referring to the WEF-related meetings she has attended by invitation in the past and meeting with she met Chairman Schwab when he visited Japan. Minister Kamikawa also stated that during the year of the G7 Presidency, Japan has consistently emphasized the unity of the G7 from the two perspectives such as the rule of law and strengthening relationships with partners beyond the G7 in order to realize a world where human dignity is protected, and that women's empowerment is indispensable when talking about human dignity.
- President Brende explained that the WEF places importance on efforts to eliminate divisions in the world and outlined the expected outcomes of the WEF's Annual Meeting (Davos Conference) to be held in January next year.
- They also exchanged views on various issues including regional situations and women's empowerment, and confirmed future cooperation.
