Letter of condolences from Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA Yoko on the loss of the crew members of the U.S. Forces due to the crash of the CV-22

Following the loss of the crew members of the U.S. Forces due to the crash of the CV-22 on November 29 off the shore of Yakushima Island, Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA Yoko sent letters of condolence to the Honorable Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America and the Honorable Rahm Emanuel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Japan.

In her letters, Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA Yoko stated that she was deeply saddened to learn the loss of eight crew members due to the crash of the CV-22 belonging to Yokota Air Base, on November 29. She expressed sincere condolences for the loss of the crew members and her sympathy to their families.

She expressed her heartfelt gratitude and respect to the members of the U.S. Forces Japan who carry out missions day and night, far away from their hometowns and families, to maintain peace and security of Japan and the surrounding region.
