Japan Disaster Relief Medical Team has achieved the Emergency Medical Team reclassification

On November 17th, the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Medical Team was reclassified by WHO as meeting the criteria for an Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Type 2.
The EMT classification/reclassification system aims to ensure the quality of health care provided during disasters, promote standardization of the structures and capabilities of each EMT, and facilitate global coordination mechanism.
The reclassification of the JDR Medical team is expected to further promote the team’s disaster relief activities overseas such as responding to earthquakes.
