Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fukazawa’s attendance of the International conference on humanitarian aid for Gaza’s civilians

On November 9, Mr. Fukazawa Yoichi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the international conference on humanitarian aid for the civilian population of Gaza, held in Paris, France. The overview of the conference is asfollows;
- The conference was opened with a speech by H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, and chaired by H.E. Ms. Catherine COLONNA, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs. UNRWA, UNOCHA, ICRC, MSF and others briefed about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, and then each country delivered statement on (1) respect for international humanitarian law, protection of civilians and humanitarian staff, and strengthening humanitarian access, (2) humanitarian response in the health, water, energy, and food sectors and (3) mobilization of major donors’ resources to enable an emergency humanitarian response commensurate with Gaza's needs.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fukazawa unequivocally condemned once again the terror attacks by Hamas and others. In addition, he stated that Foreign Minister Kamikawa had visited Israel, Palestine and Jordan and discussed with her regional counterparts toward calming down of the situation as soon as possible and impriving the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, as well as addressed to the Israeli side necessity of humanitarian pauses and that all acts should be taken in accordance with international law including international humanitarian law. He also introduced that extensive discussion on the situation in the Middle East region was held in the G7 foreign ministers meeting.
