Emergency Grant Aid in response to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip

On October 24, the Government of Japan decided to extend Emergency Grant Aid of USD 10 million in response to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

  1. Providing aid through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Japan will implement humanitarian assistance in areas such as food, water and medical care.
  2. The Government of Japan will continue to closely monitor the current situation with serious concern, and will proactively work on engaging the concerned parties, in cooperation with other countries and international organizations, toward early de-escalation of the situation and improvement of the humanitarian situation in Gaza. In addition, Japan will continue to consider assistance based on the needs on the ground in a timely manner.
