Japan-Egypt Foreign Ministers’ Telephone Talk

On December 28, commencing at around 6:30PM for approximately 15 minutes, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a telephone talk with H.E. Mr. Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The overview is as follows:
- Minister MOTEGI welcomed the progress of bilateral cooperation in various fields through high-level visits and dialogues, including the two visits of President El-Sisi and Minister Shoukry to Japan in 2019. Minister MOTEGI also affirmed the smooth progress of symbolic projects between the two countries, such as the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and cooperation in the education field.
- In response, Minister Shoukry stated that he would like to strengthen the cooperative relationship, including economic relations with Japan. The two ministers shared the view to continue closely working together in order to further enhance the bilateral relationship.
