Opening Ceremony of the Training Program for the ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Centre in Thailand

- On June 19, the ceremony was held at the ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Centre (AJCCBC) in Bangkok, Thailand, to commemorate the 1st training program of the Japan International Cooperation Agency's (JICA) technical cooperation project, “Project for Enhancing ASEAN-Japan Capacity Building Program for Cybersecurity and Trusted Digital Services”. Mr. Hideo Ishizuki, Deputy Director-General and Ambassador in charge of Cyber Policy, Foreign Policy Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, as well as officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and JICA, attended from the Japanese side, and Major General Teerawut Wittayakorn, Deputy Secretary-General of the Thailand National Cyber Security Agency, attended from the Thailand side. The ceremony was held as one of the events commemorating the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.
- The “Project for Enhancing ASEAN-Japan Capacity Building Program for Cybersecurity and Trusted Digital Services” is a technical cooperation project based on the Japan-ASEAN Technical Cooperation Agreement. The first training program in this project is attended by 15 trainees from ASEAN countries. In addition to conducting training programs, a Japanese expert has been dispatched to the AJCCBC from April this year and training equipment will be provided as well. The project aims to strengthen the cyber security response capabilities of the ASEAN region by expanding cybersecurity training and cybersecurity human resource development programs for youth at the AJCCBC, holding seminars in cooperation with third-party organizations, and strengthening the information-gathering and analysis capabilities of the AJCCBC.
