Telephone Talk Between Former Foreign Minister Hayashi and Secretary of State Blinken
On September 14, commencing at 9:20a.m. for approximately 10 minutes, former Foreign Minister HAYASHI Yoshimasa held a telephone talk with the Honorable Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America. The overview of the talk is as follows.
- Former Minister Hayashi stated that as the very foundation of the international order is shaken by various challenges, and the international society is at a historic crossroads, the Japan-U.S. Alliance has become stronger than ever under the leadership of Prime Minister Kishida and President Biden and through the 20 meetings and telephone meetings held with Secretary Blinken. Former Minister Hayashi also expressed his appreciation on the close coordination and friendship with Secretary Blinken.
- Former Minister Hayashi introduced the new Foreign Minister Kamikawa as his successor. Former Minister Hayashi expressed his hope for the further strengthening of the Japan-U.S. Alliance, and expressed his determination to continue contributing to the development of Japan-U.S. relations.
