1. On 26 August, 6th Japan-Australia Consultation on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Issues was held in VTC format. Mr. HONSEI Kozo, Director-General of Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented the Japanese side, and Ms. Amanda GORELY, First Assistant Secretary, International Security Division at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, represented the Australian side.

2. In this consultation, both countries exchanged views on current important issues in the field of disarmament and non-proliferation, including nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, chemical weapons, and regional non-proliferation issues. Both sides shared the view that the two countries would continue the consultation.
