Terrorist attacks in Afghanistan
(Statement by Press Secretary Takeshi Osuga)
1. Japan expresses its deep concern over a series of recent terrorist attacks that have resulted in a large number of casualties in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, including the attack which targeted a wedding hall in Kabul on August 17. Japan expresses its heartfelt condolences to all the victims and prays for the early recovery of those who were injured.
2. Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason. The Government of Japan strongly condemns all forms of terrorism.
3. Japan expresses its strong solidarity with the Government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Japan will continue to support, in close collaboration with the international community, the effort towards peace and stability in Afghanistan.
