Situation in Sudan (Arrest of President Bashir and the establishment of the Transitional Military Council)

1. On April 11, 2019, in Khartoum, Sudan, First Vice President and Defense Minister Ibn Ouf announced the arrest of President Bashir and establishment of the Transitional Military Council which put Sudan under its transitional rule.
2. Japan pays close attention to the situation in Sudan and hopes that constitutional order will be restored as soon as possible under the auspice of democracy.
