Summary of the Fourteenth Round of the Negotiations for Japan-Turkey Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)
1. The fourteenth round of the negotiations for Japan-Turkey Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) was held from April 2 to April 5 in Ankara, Turkey.
2. From the Japanese side, Mr. Keiji Ide, Representative of the Government of Japan for Free Trade and Economic Agreement Negotiations, and representatives from relevant ministries attended this round of meeting. From the Turkish side, Mr. Hüsnü Dilemre, Director General for International Agreements and EU Affairs, Ministry of Trade, and representatives from relevant ministries participated.
3. At the meeting, discussions were held in areas including trade in goods, trade in services, rules of origin, technical barriers to trade (TBT), intellectual property, e-commerce, government procurement, and state-owned enterprises.
4. Both sides agreed to work on scheduling the dates of the next round of negotiations, through diplomatic channels.
