Presidential Election in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

1. The Government of Japan congratulates Mr. Félix Antoine TSHISEKEDI TSHILOMBO on his inauguration as the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on January 24 and the peaceful transition of power.
2. The Government of Japan expects the Democratic Republic of the Congo to consolidate democracy and to foster economic and social development. In this regard, Japan will continue to support the Democratic Republic of the Congo in their efforts for the realization of these goals and will strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
