Foreign Minister Kono received a courtesy call
from Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership (Japan-CLP)


Foreign Minister Taro Kono received a courtesy call from Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership (Japan-CLP), for 20 minutes from 5:15 pm on December 19th.
1. Minister Kono expressed appreciation for the recommendation issued by Japan-CLP in the opening remarks, Minister Kono reiterated his hope that Japan-CLP would take a leading role in improving the international competitiveness of Japanese business through promotion of climate change measures.
2. In response, the Japan-CLP members stated that they will continue to actively address climate change measures. The participants exchanged their views in the subsequent discussion.

Japan-CLP is a business coalition aiming to realize sustainable carbon-free society and consists of Japanese companies taking the lead on climate change issues. On November 30, Japan-CLP delivered the recommendation about a Long-Term Strategy under the Paris Agreement as Growth Strategy.
