  1. 1. On November 19, the Japan-Israel Bilateral Consultation on Disarmament and Non-proliferation Issues was held in Tokyo.

    2. Ambassador Masahiro Kawasaki, Deputy Director-General, Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented the Japanese side, and Mr. Haim Assaraf, Deputy Head, Strategic Affairs Division, and Mr. Ofer Moreno, Director, Arms Control Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented the Israeli side.

    3. In this bilateral consultation, both sides extensively exchanged their views on major issues such as disarmament and non-proliferation, conventional arms, use of chemical weapons, and regional affairs. Both sides confirmed that they will continue this bilateral consultation.
