The 1st Japan-EU High Level Industrial, Trade and Economic Dialogue
1. On October 22, 2018, the 1st Japan-EU High-level Industrial, Trade and Economic Dialogue will be held in Tokyo.
2. From the Japanese side, Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry, and officials from relevant ministries and also from the EU side, Mr. Jyrki Katainen, Vice-President of the European Commission for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness and other officials will participate in the meeting.
3. At the meeting, they will discuss various challenges in the field of industry, trade and economy such as international trade, digital economy, investment, environment, climate changes and energy.

The Japan-EU High Level Industrial, Trade and Economic Dialogue between Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign affairs, Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry as co-chairs on the Japanese side, and Mr. Jyrki Katainen, Vice-President of the European Commission for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness as a co-chair on the EU side, to hold a strategic discussion on a range of topics on industry, trade and economy in close cooperation with relevant Ministries and Directorate-Generals, was established on the occasion of the 25th Japan-EU Summit held in July, 2018.
