Summary of the Eleventh Round of the Negotiations for Japan-Turkey Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)

1. The eleventh round of the negotiations for Japan-Turkey Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) was held from Tuesday, September 4 to Friday, September 7 in Tokyo.

2. From the Japanese side, Mr. Keiji Ide, Representative of the Government of Japan for Free Trade and Economic Agreement Negotiations, and representatives from relevant ministries attended this round of meeting. From the Turkish side, Mr. Ramazan Kisa, Deputy Director General, DG for EU and External Relations, Ministry of Trade, and representatives from relevant ministries participated.

3. At the meeting, discussions were held in areas including trade in goods, sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS), rules of origin, technical barriers to trade (TBT), intellectual property, competition policy, customs procedures and trade facilitation, and state-owned enterprises, among others.

4. Both sides agreed to work on scheduling the dates of the next round of negotiations, through diplomatic channels.
