1. The fifth meeting of the Japan-U.S. Bilateral Commission on Civil Nuclear Cooperation was held in Tokyo on August 8, 2018.
2. The meeting was attended from the Japanese side by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Ministry of the Environment, the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, and the Nuclear Regulation Authority, and from the U.S. side by the Department of Energy, the Department of Commerce, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
3. Based on the outcome of the meeting, Japan and the U.S. issued the Joint Statement (English (PDF)
