The 4th Japan- France Bilateral Consultations on Cybersecurity
1. The 4th Japan-France Bilateral Consultations on Cybersecurity were held in Tokyo on 12 June 2018.
2. This whole of government meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Masato Otaka, Ambassador in charge of Cyber Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Japan, and Mr. David Martinon, Ambassador for Digital Affairs, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, with the participation of officials from, on the Japanese side, National Security Secretariat (NSS), National center of Incident readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity (NISC), Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office (CIRO), Public Security Intelligence Agency (PSIA), National Police Agency (NPA), Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Ministry of Defense (MOD), and JPCERT/CC, and on the French side, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of the Armed Forces, Ministry of the Interior, National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI), Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), Pôle d'excellence cyber (PEC),
3. At this dialogue, the two sides exchanged views on cybersecurity, including their respective latest cybersecurity efforts and strategies. The Japan-France Joint Press Release (English (PDF) / Japanese (PDF)) was issued following the dialogue.
4. Both sides confirmed that the fifth Japan-France Bilateral Consultations on Cybersecurity will be held in France next year.
