The Commissioner-Genral of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East to Visit Japan
1. Mr.Pierre Krähenbühl, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East(UNRWA), will visit Japan from January 23 to 26.
2. During his stay, the Commissioner-General Krähenbühl is scheduled to meet with government officials and hold a lecture meetings.
3. Japan is proactively implementing assistance for the estabilization of Middle-East including assistance to Palestine Refugees, and this visit to Japan by the Commissioner-General Krähenbühl is expected to further deepen the relationship between Japan and the UNRWA.

The Commissioner-General Krähenbühl has been serving in his current position since March 2014, after serving as a Deputy Head of Delegation in Bosnia-Herzegovina at the International Committee of the Red Cross(ICRC), Head of Operation in the Balkan in the Head Quarters of ICRC, Special Advisor at the ICRC President’s Office and Director of Operations at ICRC.
