Attendance by Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Iwao Horii at OECD Development Assistance Committee High Level Meeting
On Monday, October 30, Mr. Iwao Horii, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) High Level Meeting. The overview of the Meeting is as follows.
1. At the Meeting, topics such as “Changing the Development Narrative in the era of the 2030 Agenda” and “Incentivising Development Finance through ODA and Beyond” were discussed. In this regard, Mr. Horii expressed Japan’s view that, as international development have significantly changed, the DAC should respond to the needs for utilisation of various public funds and mobilisation of private funds, and the ODA should be reformed to meet the needs.
2. Also, making use of this occasion, Mr. Horii exchanged views on international cooperation with the Rt Hon Priti Patel MP, Secretary of State for International Development of the United Kingdom and other representatives.
