For more than fifty years, Prof. Ishizawa has been devoting himself for the research, conservation and restoration of Angkor monuments in Cambodia while striving for the training of Cambodian experts so that they can safeguard the monuments by themselves. His efforts significantly contributed to the reinforcement of Japan- Cambodian relations as well as the promotion of international cultural exchange.
3. The Government of Japan is determined to contribute continually by cooperating with various experts like Prof. Ishizawa to the preservation of precious common heritages for mankind including the Angkor monuments so that they can be handed over to the next generation in a sustainable manner.
