1. On October 20th, 2016, the 27th Japan-Canada Joint Economic Committee was held in Ottawa, Canada.

2. Mr. Keiichi Katakami, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs as Japanese Co-Chair and officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and other organizations, and Ms. Christine Hogan, Deputy Minister of International Trade as Canadian Co-Chair and officials of Global Affairs Canada and other ministries joined the meeting.

3. In the meeting, they exchanged their views on priority areas of cooperation, including infrastructure, energy, science and technology cooperation, improving business environment and promoting investment, and tourism and youth exchanges.
