Foreign Minister Kishida Attends ASEAN-related Foreign Ministers’ Meetings
1. Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, will visit Laos (Vientiane) during July 24-26 if circumstances permit.
2. In Vientiane, Foreign Minister Kishida will attend ASEAN-related Foreign Ministers’ Meetings (Japan-ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, ASEAN +3 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting, and Japan-Mekong Foreign Ministers’ Meeting).
At these Meetings, Ministers will discuss issues including support to strengthen the ASEAN Community, promotion of Japan-ASEAN cooperation, strengthening the EAS and confidence building at the ARF, and regional and international issues. Foreign Minister Kishida will express Japan’s views on these issues and confirm collaboration with participating countries.
Foreign Minister Kishida will also have bilateral meetings with his counterparts on this opportunity.
