Japanese food event held at the International Media Center
1. In conjunction with the G7 Ise-Shima Summit, Japanese dishes made from fresh ingredients—primarily from the Mie Prefecture area—were served at the dining hall of the International Media Center (IMC) Annex in Ise City, Mie Prefecture, in order to showcase the appeal of Japanese cuisine.
2. In addition, an exhibition was held depicting the food culture of Japan. The exhibition presented the characteristics of Japanese cuisine, how Japanese cuisine won widespread popularity and has been handed down from generation to generation, and how the techniques developed over the course of Japanese food history have contributed to the dietary habits of people around the world, including in developing countries, as well as that of the Japanese.
3. Furthermore, presentations were given regarding Japanese food products and Japanese alcoholic beverages, in accordance with the following schedule.

Functional display foods registered with the Consumer Affairs Agency, demonstrate the functions (usefulness or suitability for maintaining and promoting health) on product packages with a scientific basis.
