The Prime Minister of Canada to Visit Japan
1. The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, and his spouse, Mrs. Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau will pay an Official Working Visit to Japan from Monday, May 23 to Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
2. During their stay in Japan, the Prime Minister and his spouse will be received in audience by their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan. Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, will hold a meeting with the Prime Minister and host a dinner for him.
3. Japan and Canada are important partners in the Asia-Pacific region, sharing fundamental values. The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the Prime Minister and his spouse, and hopes that this visit will further strengthen the bond and cooperative relations between Japan and Canada.

(2) Prime Minister Trudeau had a meeting with Prime Minister Abe on the occasions of the APEC Summit meeting in November 2015 and the Nuclear Security Summit meeting in March 2016.
